CATHERINE MALANDRINO

Catherine Malandrino is a well-known French Designer that currently designs two collections: her contemporary Catherine Malandrino line and her runway line Malandrino which features shoes and accessories including jewelry, handbags, and belts. For the last 15 years, Catherine Malandrino has become a face that embodies femininity and strength. Bridging the style of Paris, the romance of Provence and the energy of New York, the Catherine Malandrino voice is embraced by women of style all around the world.

Born in France, Catherine Malandrino was passionate from a very young age, sketching and draping dresses as a child. She began her professional career as a valedictorian from Esmod, a renowned French academy in the heart of Paris. After finishing her studies, Malandrino worked as a designer for couture fashion labels such as Dorothee Bis, Louis Feraud and Emanuel Ungaro, before the French label “Et Vous” hired her as creative director in the mid 90’s. Then in 1998, Malandrino went on a business trip for “Et Vous” she discovered and fell in love with New York which proved to be a further auspicious step in Catherine Malandrino’s wondrous career.

A few months later Malandrino moved from Paris to New York and met with Diane von Furstenberg who offered her the position of senior designer and creative director of the re-launched house. Hollywood stars have worn many of her designs where Madonna was the first one to wear the collection on stage followed by Halle Berry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mary J. Blige, Kristen Stewart, Demi Moore and Alicia Keys (among others). Catherine Malandrino has been described as the most photographed French woman in America. Malandrino’s designs are audacious, chic, sensual and timeless.
